Snoring often disrupts the sleep of family members, and partners more than it affects the snorer.

This results that the partner tends to leave the bedroom or it may result to make snorer to leave the bedroom. At theses situation snoring problem may not be the medical problem, but it can become a significant social problem for the snorer and sleep problem for the partner and family members. In all these cases snoring is not considered harmful by itself. But if you snore then this cause sleep apnea problem, this is a problem in which you repeatedly stop breathing at intervals throughout the night and suddenly wake up. Then the situation comes when the problem needs snoring solutions.

Factors that are responsible for the snoring problem are as follows:

  • A receding lower jaw that causes an overbite.
  • If you have larger uvula or enlarged tonsils.
  • If you have blocked nose because of congestion, catarrh, nasal polyps or any damage in the nose.
  • If you are older, the muscles tone reduces as you get older and this raises the risk of snoring.
  • If you are having lower level of thyroid hormone.

These may be the reason that causes snoring problem but this does not mean that this problem will remain forever. There are treatments of all these problems. These days many snoring surgeries are being done to get rid of snoring problems. There are ways with the help of which you can have a complete control on your snoring.

  • If you are overweight then you should make changes in your lifestyle, so that you can lose some weight.
  • Stop smoking and taking alcohol habits.
  • You will have to change the sleeping position. As such in this position your tongue will be more likely to fall back into your throat and this blocks your airway. So by sleeping on your side there will be fewer possibilities to snore.
  • Use only one pillow to increase the airflow
  • If you have allergies then in this case you will have to reduce the contact with allergens.
