In general terms Sleep apnea is defined as a sleeping disorder. It is characterized by continual interruptions in breathing during sleep. It should be treated soon because it may lead you to serious complications and other health related problems.

It causes when your airways become blocked due to which there is low oxygen supply to lungs while sleeping. Once the interruption has occurred then level of oxygen get lowered and brain senses incapability to inhale oxygen. This obstruction during sleep keeps the patients awake and deprived them from peaceful sleep.

Other symptoms are long pauses in snoring, shallow breathing, day time sleepiness, morning headaches, dry mouth, sore throat, anxiety, and depression etc. People with Sleep apnea have the increases risk of accidents in comparison to normal people. Sleep apnea complications mainly include fatigue, depression, hypertension, heart attack, stroke, sleep deficit, high blood pressure, cardiovascular problems and sometimes even sudden death.

In cardiovascular problems obstruction of oxygen level increases blood pressure and puts strain on cardiovascular system. Though, sleep apnea enlarges the risk of stroke, with no issues either you have high blood pressure or not. Studies reveal the fact that severe Sleep apnea is connected with increased risk of heart failure and other vascular illness.

Daytime sleepiness is the most visible Sleep apnea complications. It hampers the regular activities and routine of life. It also increases the risk for accident. According to many studies that people with sleep apnea have two to three times car accidents. Due to the frequent interruptions during sleep, people often feel laziness, irritability and fatigue. It is a well known face that obesity brings sleep apnea so try to avoid over-eating or irregular eating habit, excessive fried food, and consumption of alcohol. And replace these food stuffs with nutritious meals. Sleep apnea complications can be curbed with certain medication interactions and surgical procedures.
